Pacific Forum CSIS, in partnership with the Seoul-based Korea Foundation, announces a new resident and non-resident fellowship program exclusively for Korean nationals. The Korea Foundation Fellowship at Pacific Forum builds on our organization’s long history of working on the major issues facing the Korean Peninsula. The fellowship also complements Pacific Forum’s suite of next-generation initiatives, designed to train and equip emerging experts and leaders with the knowledge, skills, and contacts necessary to contribute to regional peace and security.

Resident Fellows

Pacific Forum CSIS will select one current graduate student (or recent graduate) to be a resident fellow in its Honolulu office for a six-month period. The fellow will complete a self-directed security-related research project, under the guidance and mentorship of Pacific Forum’s senior experts. In addition to obtaining practical research experience in a think tank environment, the fellow will be an active participant in the organization’s globally recognized Young Leaders Program.

Non-resident Fellows

The Korea Foundation will also select non-resident fellows to attend to attend two Pacific Forum CSIS conferences in 2014 as part of the Young Leaders Program. This fellowship is targeted at those who are interested in participating in the foreign policy shaping process, but whose current academic or professional obligations prevent them from relocating to Honolulu for six months.

The non-resident fellowship will run from the end of January 2014 to August 2014. Selected fellows may be asked to attend Pacific Forum’s Track Two US-Korea dialogue with senior experts and fellow Young Leaders in Maui, Hawaii.

Candidates who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
